According to the Telegraph, the spot chosen to house the store will be on New Bond Street and promises to be everything the stores in the US currently offer. Head over to the Telegraph, to read the whole article!

Vivienne Westwood

Vivienne Westwood and Yoox.com have joined forces with the UnitedNations Agency, the International Trade Centre (ITC), in a new creativecollaboration, which provides dignified long-term employment for some of theworld’s most marginalized people while protecting the environment. Thisis a unique system of sharing talent, sharing skills and sharing responsibility forthe environment.

For this season’s Autumn- Winter 2011/12 Ethical Fashion Africa collection created through the programme, Vivienne Westwood and the team were joined ontheir first venture to Africa by the Worldrenowned photographer Juergen Teller. He has captured the project and thepeople to help support and promote the campaign.  The whole campaign will hopefully help promote the project and allow it to continuewith maintained success for the future. Juergen Teller commented ‘I came back completely energized and full oflife. It was truly inspiring to meet Simone Cipriani and the whole ITC team. Itmade a lot of sense to go with Vivienne to Africa.’ VivienneWestwood, in collaboration with the ITC, have created a long-term objective touse fashion as a vehicle out of poverty. From the slums of Nairobi to the most barren rural areas, someof the world’s most disadvantaged women, marginalized by illness oroppression and the daily trials of extreme poverty, are empowered by thisprogram. The Ethical Fashion Programme has already helped over 7,000 women toimprove their lives. Without the income provided through the Programme, localcommunities would otherwise be forced to deplete the natural resources aroundthem by cutting down trees to make charcoal to sell. The resultingdeforestation is an international catastrophe.

Globale-tailer, yoox.com joins with Vivienne Westwood to ensure the programmeproduces products which are truly ethical and made from recycled materialsunder conditions of fair labour, reaching customers around the world. Yoox.comis a welcome partner in making fashion fair and available to all.

The White Door

Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of styling two competition winners from the Beauty Spot in Drogheda. The prize was a styling session with me in the fabulous White Door boutique on Dublin’s Exchequer Street, and has fast become one of the top stores in town. Famously known for it’s Hello Skinny jeans (of which I am a huge fan and proud owner!), I showed the ladies how to find the perfect jeans for them, depending on their preference for skinny, bootcut, straight leg jeans! Hello Skinny has a fantastic range of styles, lengths and colours and they fit and shape you like no other jean I have come across in my years. They don’t lose shape or elasticity and I highly recommend taking a trip to the store to check them out!

RiRi and Viv

Well what do you think of this? It’s Vivienne Westwood couture and I love the colour. Plus, the signature Westwood neckline is just gorge.

Still not feeling the red hair though.

Helena hearts Vivienne

In her true “Art imitates Life” style, Helena Bonham Carter stepped out last night at the premier of her new film “The Kings Speech” with her deshevelled hubby Tim Burton. However, in contrast to his usual appearance, Helena glowed in Vivienne Westwood.

Choosing a classic couture paper tartan silk taffeta corset  and a duchess silk satin skirt, Helena looked, albeit, regal.

Tim could have least brushed his hair for the occasion.

Active Resistance by V. Westwood

I love Vivienne Westwood. As far back as Naomi Campbell falling off those iconic platforms, to the fusion lines of today. I see tartan and I think of Vivienne. If you read the Sunday World magazine this week you will see I used her A/W collection to inspire my tartan infused outfits from the high street.

Anyway, a wonderful project is afoot, and I am delighted to be contributing to it. Vivienne Westwood Anglomania + Lee are launching an online installation entitled ‘100 Days of Active Resistance’ (www.ar100days.com). They are asking the public to participate by submitting an artwork or photograph that best represents Vivienne’s principle idea of Active Resistance.

“The principle idea of Active Resistance is that you get out of life what you put in and that real experience of the world involves thinking” – Vivienne Westwood.

100 days of positive thought, active change, speaking up and being heard. Vivienne Westwood Anglomania and Lee Jeans encourage communication and individuality through an online installation sharing interpretations of Vivienne Westwood’s Active Resistance

“It is not enough to follow world politics, see films and read the prize-winning best seller. This is superficial, you need to go deep in order to understand who you are, what the world is and how things could be better. This involves culture which can only be acquired by self-education: human beings should mirror the world.” – Vivienne Westwood.

Every day for one hundred days one image will be selected from your submissions and shared online on www.ar100days.com from the 8th of September.

At the close of 100 days, the 100 chosen images will become a part of a London exhibition dedicated to the project.

Vivienne Westwood will celebrate the launch of the website and their collaboration with Lee at their London W1 stores with an exhibition of Vivienne Westwood denim pieces from past to present on the 8th of September coinciding with Vogue’s Fashion Night Out.

So stand up and speak out! Take a photo, write a slogan, create an image and show us your active resistance. Visit www.ar100days.com from the 8th of September and make a submission.
