warehouse is just wonderful

I totally forgot to post this picture from red carpet at the Catwalk 2 Kilimanjaro launch on August 10th at Harry’s on the Green ( a project I am very involved with at the mo). I just love this blouse. It’s cream chiffon (very light) with a nice neat collar and is embellished down the front and on the sleeve. It’s so chic and when I saw it, it had Balmain written all over it, and before I knew it, it was mine.

I wore it with some black leggings from Charlotte Ronson which were a US purchase last year and were well worth the money. No shrinkage or fading. With something like this blouse which has some detail, I like to keep this the key piece and make the rest of look quite simple, so the focal point is the embellishment. The blouse is €72 from Warehouse, which you can purchase through www.styleisle.ie!

Dublin Festival of Fashion – And the best dressed lady is…

I left the house this morning feeling pretty confident that I looked nice wearing the following:

1) Leggings by Charlotte Ronson

2) Black vest from Awear

3) Black drape cotton cardi from JC Penney (US)

4) Thigh high black suede boots (a purchase in Venice last year, I knew they were a good investment)

5) Khaki Green military style 3/4 length coat from Penneys

6) Animal print beret from H&M

So off I went on my merry little way to the Dublin Festival of Fashion for a day of style and new fashion ideas. Little did I know it would lead to another great fashion victory (after the win at Cork Fashion Week). I wondered over the to the Ilac centre to take in the catwalk shows and have a meander around Debenhams (I needed to replace my bottle of Chanel Particulaire nail varnish). I was approached by a very nice young lady who asked me if I would like to enter the best dressed lady competition. Well I don’t mind if I do.

Low and behold at 3pm, the dynamic fashion duo, Sonya Lennon and Brendan Courtney announce me as the winner. Yay me and the coat from Penneys! I got a lovely prize and of course a great pic with two of my fav people in Irish fashion!

party in the city (week 1)

Week one of the Miami adventure has drawn to a close. A little of shopping plus a little bit of sunshine plus a lot of giggles ( in addition to a full week at work) gives you a semi tanned, retail happy blogger.

The post work activities included, hitting Dolphin Mall for a wander around the newly opened Forever 21 which is in a new space in the outlet mall. The shop is giant. It’s actually hard to find your way around. I went with a strategy to F21 this time with the intention of building a really funky outfit. I ended up with black silk shorts, a black sleeveless top with buttons down the front and a lace back. By tucking the top into the shorts it looks really elegant and very night-on-the-town-in-the-hottest-city-in-the-planet.

We also hit Dadeland and I stocked up on some make up in Mac and Sephora. I even discovered a new self tan by the people who bring Mystic tan to the people of the US. It goes on great, very even and not orange, which is a must.

The highlight of the week however, was seeing the fabulous Rhianna in concert. She was incredible and the Miami crowd went wild for her. I have never danced so much at a gig in my life. She looked stunning with over 5 costume changes in less than an hour and the icing on the cake was the huge pink army tank at the side of the stage! Words cannot describe I tell you…sigh.

The fashion find of the trip was in the chain, JC Penney. Charlotte Ronson is the latest guest designer to hit the shop floor with her I LOVE RONSON line. It’s fun, colourful, light textured and really affordable. I bought two pieces and it cost less than $30. Plus I got an extra 15% because I was from out of town (Macy’s also offer a similar discount too, you just need your passport).

Here are some of the images from the adventure so far!

Donna and Laura looking trés chic on South Beach

My Lincoln Drive morning of shopping outfit: Playsuit from Wet Seal ($22), white tank from A-wear (€15), chains both from Forever 21, sunglasses from Rayban (2 years old at this stage). Smile, from the sunshine.

A sunkissed Miss Speight. How cool was her blog post on Friday?

Nail colour by Essie in watermelon.

Stay tuned for part 2. Disney.

It’s getting late…I’m makin’ my way over to my favourite place…:)
