So what have I been up to?

Gosh it’s been ages since I posted up here. Most of my effort these days are going into http://www.styleisle.ie which is growing and I am so grateful to all my dedicated readers! Since January, I have had a hectic few months. I’ve written a great summer feature for The Richmond Green magazine in London and we are working on a shoot for them too, I have become involved in the Enable Ireland Give up Clothes for Good campaign and there is a great feature coming up in U Magazine shortly, and I am shooting a movie this weekend, where I am Head of Costume! The styleisle empire is growing and thanks to a lot of hard work and some great people I have met along the way, I couldn’t be happier. Fashion week was great as always and the Irish were strongly represented both on the catwalk and in the audience. I had my photo taken for Elle Japan! Anyway, thanks for all your support and keep reading my personal posts here (I promise there will be more) and styleisle.ie!

New Season wishlist

I don’t know why I do it to myself. But I always log onto Net a porter at the start of each season and make my wishlist. I know. It’s torture. Thankfully if I can just get inspired then that’s good enough for me. So here are my picks. So far 🙂

My wardrobe view

I’ve been clearing out my wardrobe and trying to figure out what I should keep and what to give away to charity. And so I have spent the day perusing magazines to come up with some of my favourite looks for the Winter and I will try to match my clothes accordingly. I love the Alexander Wang look (left), it’s edgy but wearable and all I need to do is invest in a pair of statement trousers (similar to those on the DKNY runway, second from right). I also have two faux fur gilets, one from Cynthia Rowley and another from Awear which I got last year. These will look great over skinny jeans, cropped trousers or even a pencil skirt to give it more of a sophisticated tone. My gilets are more like the one seen here on Kate Moss (right).

I plan on dressing edgy this year with lot’s of statement shoes (animal print ankle boots from New Look) and leather jackets (I have two, one from All Saints and one from Forever 21). By having these two essentials, I reckon I can mix and and match without having to spend a fortune. Happy days.
