ASOS A/W 2011/12 … just a peek.

I just took receipt of the ASOS Autumn/Winter 2011 lookbook and OMG I’m officially in love. And potentially broke.

I’m not going to spoil it for you, but here is a quick look at what to expect from the online retailer. This shot reminds me of Mulberry for some reason. No justification but it was the first designer that came into my head when I saw the Autumnal colours and beautifully crafted leather bags (on the right).

Key trend hint: Don’t be afraid of clashing colours! LFW had so much of it. And make red your new colour!

Warehouse fabulous!

Warehouse have some gorge stuff at the moment and recently are some of my favourite looks. Balmain eat your heart out on the metallics! I love a “dirty metallic” look and these ones are right up my street. Do you think if I ask nicely they’ll send me this whole outfit???? Thought not. x

TK Maxx – the festival goers must

This week the lovely peeps at TK Maxx gave me a little style challenge. As part of their Superbrands promotion in store at  the mo, I had to put together a great festival look for under €50! So, I looked for a little inspiration and none came to more swiftly than this year’s Coachella festival in California, aka, Kate Bosworth’s style fest. Celebs love this festival and it’s full of the latest festival chic and let’s face it, most of the summer trends seem to take shape here.

We’re talking shorts, tees, cutesy little dresses denim and darling little summer tops from the most awesome casual brands to add a touch of California style to your wardrobe this summer.

And with supersize savings of up to 60% off the normal high street you’ve nailed that celebrity look for less.

So here’s my LA look!

Pants, €22.99; Pink top, €14.00; Hat,  €9.99; Bag,  €16.99.

River Island – A/W 2011 preview

River Island has just previewed it’s Autumn/Winter 2011-12 collection and I went along to have a look. Great textures, leather, a little touch of neutral colours, lot’s of luxe leather handbags, faux fur gloves (they’re orange!), colourful chunky knits….if this is a taste of what is to come, I can’t wait! Take a look at my pics!

French Connection!

We’ve all see the biggest trends for the year parading down the catwalks, and now moving onto the High Street in various influences but because we can’t all afford Prada and Chanel it can leave us feeling a little glum. There’s no reason why you can’t get 2011’s hottest trends on an affordable budget and there are plenty of brands out there that can help you to get a fashion forward wardrobe at a fraction of the designer cost.

One such brand is French Connection, who are well known for their elegant, classic pieces of women’s clothing that can easily be mixed and matched with your current wardrobe for an up to date look. Ilove their Spring/Summer 2011 trends which take on the best trends and give them a twist. Here are a few of my favourites (which you can also check out at Very):

White and Lace – let’s face it, Kate Middleton’s dress was bang on trend for this season and her excellent choice of wedding dress definitely seems to have inspired designers everywhere. Add sheer white pieces, with lace detailing, to add a feminine, clean feel to any outfit.

Utility – Practical and pretty? This is exactly what French Connection are aiming for here. With a neutral palette and no military overtones, this makes for a great daytime look. Chic playsuits, tailored shorts and pleating are all features of this trend.

Pastels – French Connections Spring/Summer 2011 collection features a range of pretty, pastel, feminine colours that come in a pale and neutral palette. Much of French Connection’s collection in this trend is loose fitting and flowing, making for a casual, elegant and comfortable feel.

Other features in the French Connection lookbook include tailored leather shorts, luxe jumpsuits and simple summer dresses. In short – everything you need for a great summer wardrobe. Some of these trends won’t suit all but French Connection’s elegant, classic style will have something for everyone, if you know how to wear it correctly.
