Brioni I’m disappointed in you.

I’m kind of sad about this. Brioni announced today they were ditching womenswear to focus on their menswear line which means…they are letting Alessandro Dell’Aqua go as creative director. On top of that! They decided to veto the womenswear show at Milan altogether! I mean why bother spending the last six months with a design team working away to build a collection, which might I add has always been good, only not to show it? I consider this a big huge waste of cash. When I first started blogging, I wrote a post on Alessandro and where he disappeared to after his own line went down the swany. And now one year later, a label with whom he has re built a steller career, no longer wants him.

Let’s hope this creative talent will not go to waste. [image from]

Feathers. Oh no you didn’t.

I definitely wouldn’t call myself a fashion slayer. I tend not to get critical very often and when I do…well…it’s justified. Last week, Rihanna attended the launch of her new perfume. Now if I was launching a perfume, I would wear something like this:

Autumn/Winter Louis Vuitton. Yum. Oh I love you Marc. (Jacobs that is, creative director at the label).

But not Rihanna. No she wore this:

So, this is from the latest collection from Antonio Berardi. I was at this show in February when this was shown and I didn’t like then and I don’t like it now. It’s wrong. Actually it’s a crime. The colour is beautiful, soft aquamarine which is lovely to see in the colder months. But the feathers? I mean, come on! Who told him this was a good idea. And what you can’t see in this pic is that it’s a jumpsuit, not a dress.

Designers can get it wrong! Case in point. See above.

Beyoncé likes Kurt Geiger!

Spotted….Beyoncé going shoe shopping in London and what did she find? A pair of the hottest Kurt Geiger shoes priced at £200.

If you wanna copy the songstress, pop along to Brown Thomas or Debenhams who stock Kurt Geiger in Ireland.

Fashion Fix with Lorna Weightman

Lorna Weightman

Saturday, 16 July 2011
By Sarah McIntyre

“We caught up with Irish fashion blogger of Style Isle to get the lowdown on her fashion influences, beauty must-haves and favourite designers and high street stores.

Sarah McIntyre: Do you experiment with your look?
Lorna Weightman: All the time. I like to push the boundaries. I wouldn’t say that I conform to trends each season; I take what I like and make it work for my style and sometimes that means diverting from the mainstream. It’s great to test the waters with style by just adding the smallest detail and then gradually building up to wearing something that is a complete departure from your day to day style. Fashion has a learning curve, and the only way to progress, is to take a risk every once in a while.
