How cool are these? These amazing pieces are by the talented designer Mirit Weinstock from Tel Aviv, Israel. Before starting her own line, Mirit worked with the everlasting fashion icon, Alexander McQueen, at magazine “View on Colour, and with Alber Elbaz chez Lanvin. With such phenomenal fashion credentials, I was only too pleased to display her work on the blog. Mirit got in contact with me on Sense of Fashion which has become a great fashion network to me. It’s wonderful to link in with such inspiring people from around the globe.
These images are from her S/S 2010 collection, but log onto her website at www.miritweinstock.com and take a look at the A/W. The A/W collection is available from September.
By the way, the jewellery is made from shuttlecocks; yes the feathered ball used in the game of badminton.
The shuttlecocks were re-constructed, coloured and combined with gold, silver, pleats, knitting, silk, flowers and Swarovski stones to create jewellery. Incredible.
